hm - i think i understand parts of what you're saying... (i'll be honest, i find a lot of what you've written here confusing :) i still don't agree with the words "judgemental exploitation" - or the term "forcibly convicted"... but we agree on the point that we need to operate in a spirit of love, but disagree when it comes to support for this particular approach. :) Love your heart, Erik!

oh I click the wrong button and all the things I have written within the last 2 hours has been cleared. Anyway, I want to say a lot , I will write more in email. Basically pain and hurt can also be a gift form above...

11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are those who mourn,
 for they will be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
 for they will be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart,
 for they will see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Sorry I didn't get around to reading this until after you published it. I think you've expressed well the deep sadness and frustration of your life and ministry as I've been privileged to listen in over the last few months.

I have no idea what the future holds for paid ministry in general, but my encouragement to you is to (within the bounds of your marriage, health and finances) invest in those ministries that really give you life. I think you have something unique and powerful in re:Genesis and God at the Movies; they are creative expressions of your life and personality under the lordship of Jesus!

I pray that as you discern God in the midst of feeling, thinking and writing, that you might find the light yoke and abundant life of Jesus.

That's a mighty big elephant you've got there, but your God is bigger. I'm praying for you. I know how hard it is to leave a church, maybe not for the same reasons. If you are ever want to talk things over I'm an email away and we can meet for coffee.

Yeah, I don't know if I'm Calvinist, Arminian, or Molinist regarding depravity. I just know that I can't save myself. I need a Savior. And just like I'm saved by grace through faith, I believe that my (?) sanctification, working out my salvation, is also by faith. Wasn't it in Galatians that Paul said, "having begun in the spirit, are you now trying to finish in the flesh." Luke 9:23 is meant to be a spiritual journey that has real life implications. Eph 2:10, "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." I'm sure you would agree with me on this. This is getting to be a fun discussion.

Hi Tim. Yeah, we may have a reprieve from sin when we die or when Jesus comes back, but even after the 1000 years Jesus looses the chains off Satan, and the devil's back to his old tricks again, "that if it were possible he might deceive the very elect." Apparently being in the presence of the risen Savior for a 1000 years is not enough to immunize us from the draw of sin. I have to admit I'm not looking forward to feeling tempted all over again. But I believe there is a reward for those who endure, to be with Jesus forever and to see the new heavens and new earth.
